I must apologize now if I seem a bit bias towards this Sarnie Shop !!
This is a shop I have visited many times in the past but thought I would wait untill I had been recently to review it incase it had shut down or the owners had changed…
Luckily it hasn’t !
The only draw back I can find to this cafe is that there is a lack of parking as the road outside has double yellows on both sides. The reason for this is that it’s on the main street through Holmes Chapel. Luckily for the sarnie lover there is a small shopping precinct 2 mins walk away where you can park for free while you get your sarnie. Or for the very daring there is parking in the pub car park over the road but you are risking getting clamped.
As you walk in the layout is like your standard sarnie shop. Counter to your left showing off all the fresh food and cakes they have and a fridge with all manner of cold drinks. The staff are really friendly and are never too busy to have a chat about anything from running marathons to the weather to the sarnie shop next door that has just changed to an indian restaurant, apparently ! and this is just what ive heard, because the sarnie’s were just too good from sandwiches direct to compete with.
I’ve had all manner of sarnies from here over the years and I can honestly say ive never had a bad one yet, and I don’t expect I ever will. If im honest the prices are a tiny bit more than normal but everything I have had from here has been worth every penny.
Coffee !
As this is quite a well to do little village and you would think the customers would be a bit up market, apart from the Sarnie Army, ( working class and proud of it lol) Then I suppose one of the dreaded espresso machines is to be expected. As I didn’t think there would be a hint of nescafe anywhere in this shop I usually opt for a latte, and what a surprise it is, as its nothing like you would expect from your normal espresso machines, it’s actually drinkable without pulling a face that looks like you’ve just won an all expenses paid winter holiday at Butlins in Bognor for 7 nights !!
As I said at the start I am bias toward this shop and I think anyone traveling within a 15 mile radius should at least call in and sample the bacon, sausage and egg, oh with the choice of four different types of barm cake. A definite winner that the Sarnie Army recommends…
totally disagree the shop next door was much better value for money really miss it !!!!!
hi Kate
Thanks for your view on the cafe next door we appreciate all points of view at the sarnie army…
